Το κορεάτικο συγκρότημα "AUREUM" στο πλαίσιο της παγκόσμιας περιοδείας του "World Music Travel Poongryoo Series VI" επισκέπτεται την Ελλάδα και συμπράττει με τους Έλληνες μουσικούς Κυριάκο Καλαϊτζίδη (ούτι) και Δημήτρη Παναγούλια (κρουστά).

Θα προηγηθεί (ώρα 16:00, στον ίδιο χώρο) διάλεξη-σεμινάριο σχετικά με την κορεατική μουσική παράδοση.

AUREUM, a traditional music troupe, have engaged in various performing activities to inherit and develop traditional Korean art, ‘Poongryoo’ music. The word ‘Poongryoo’ is a meaning of the wind and water flow by dictionary definition. but it contains the philosophy of traditional Korean music and art.  The “Poongryoo” is a kind of philosophy which regard the harmony between nature and human beings as the ultimate value of art.  It’s based on the Korean philosophy, human is just a part of nature.  Nowadays, K-pop  is very popular around the world. ‘Poongryoo’ is an important philosophical foundations of the K-pop.  A lot of K-pop music contains the harmony and relationship of human beings. It’s an energy of the rapid development of k-pop. Aureum has been carrying out the World Music ‘Poongryoo’ Project for more than 10 years.  This project is aiming at harmonizing by cultural exchange with all around the world, beyond the human-human harmony in Korea.  The Byzantine ‘Poongryoo’ is the fifth project to attempt to exchange Korean music with other cultural area.  It will be a chance to understand between Korea and Byzantine culture by music.  It’s the last events of this project. AUREUM performed with Kyriakos Kalaitzidis trio, who is a master of Byzantine music, in South Korea in April 2019. The performances in Istanbul and Athens are the grand finale of ‘Byzantine Poongryoo’ project.

The Aureum, Korean traditional music company, was established in 1995. Aureum has performed various projects with the vision  of preserving, inheriting and developing the Korean traditional music. Aureum has focused on the combined “Poongryu” art which contains music, poem. and dance etc. and cultural exchange with the traditional music of abroad. The performance “ Poongryu, meet present in past past “ performed at National traditional art center as a best performance in 2012. Aureum launched the world “Poongryu” travel project in 2008 and have performed together with overseas musicians. Aureum continues to perform the project more than 10 years in Boston, New York, Paris, Bruxelles, Tokyo, Qingdao, Java in Indonesia etc. Aureum, Korean traditional music company, was established in 1995 for the purpose of preserving, inheriting and developing traditional music. Mu, a musician of Korean folk music, is staging a global music tour series in 2011 to promote the globalization of traditional Korean culture, and continues to engage with overseas musicians through I-Japan, II-U.S., III-Indonesia, IV-Europe, and V-Greeze. It is striving to expand the base of traditional Korean music in the United States, Japan, China, France and Belgium.
